Disc degeneration | spine care

D.C., Chiropractor, Cary H. Rothenberg. Professional license 15265498.

Disc degeneration describes age-related disc changes. Symptoms vary. Evaluation reviews history, exam, and studies if you bring them. Plan set in evaluation; no promise of results from the first session.

What to know

Disc degeneration is a label on imaging, not a sentence on activity. Many people have changes on MRI without daily pain. When symptoms limit work or sleep, evaluation clarifies conservative options.

When to book evaluation

  • Pain or stiffness that limits work, sleep, or daily activity.
  • Symptoms into the buttock or leg, or numbness.
  • Episodes that do not improve with brief rest.
  • Recent imaging you want reviewed in the visit.

Do not book here for loss of bladder or bowel control, numbness in the genital or anal area, leg weakness that is getting worse, or pain after a major injury. That is an emergency.
